LAGOS, March 24 (Xinhua) -- A Nigerian Airforce jet fighter has crashed land at the Yola International Airport in northeast Adamawa State, aviation sources told Xinhua on Thursday.
One of the source at the airport said the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. local time Wednesday night when the jet which return from a mission hovers round for about 30 minutes before attempting to land.
"No life is lost as the two pilots ejected while the jet landed and skidded into a ditch in the airport," a source who preferred anonymity said.
Attempt to get air force officials in Yola to comment on the incident did not yield result as they said they have no authority to talk to the press on any matter.
"We don't talk to press here, contact our headquarters' in Abuja," a personnel said.
The last an air force jet crash in Adamawa was in October 2015 when an F7-N1 fighter jet returning to base from a mission crashed due to bad weather. Enditem
